Nomex® Thermal Protection for Industrial Workers
DuPont recommends using the following five selection criteria when choosing the most appropriate thermal protection material for industrial workers:
1: CE Marks, Norms and Regulations
DuPont™ Nomex® offers a level of thermal protection for industrial workers that meets or exceeds the norms.
2: Protection Performance
Nomex® is inherently flame-resistant due to its specific molecular structure. Its thermal protection performance cannot be affected by washing, abrasion or exposure to heat. PPE made of Nomex® help provide superior protection against:
- Heat and Flame
- Heat of an Electric Arc
- Metal Splashes
- Chemical Splashes
- Static Electric Discharge Hazard
- Low Visibility Hazard
3: Wearer Comfort
DuPont helps translate ergonomic needs into wearer benefits, to help making protective work wear as attractive and comfortable as street wear, whilst still addressing stringent protection standards. The following factors make a big difference:
4: Cost Effectiveness
DuPont™ Nomex® is a highly cost-effective solution in terms of cost per wear thanks to its exceptional durability. Suitable for home or industrial laundry, garments made of Nomex® fibre can retain their inherent benefits throughout many washes. Find out how you can save with Nomex® .
5: Peace of Mind
Nomex® is made by DuPont, a recognised world leader in the field of safety and protective apparel. Within the DuPont™ Nomex® Partner Program, DuPont works in close collaboration with carefully selected European partners to deliver high quality Nomex® solutions and maximum protection.
Nomex® ProVis is a yellow, high visibility personal protection fabric from DuPont, which offers inherent protection from heat, flame and electric arc. Nomex® ProVis fabric is compliant with the requirements of the European Standard EN 471 for high-visibility fabrics.
