DuPont Strengthens Presence in Bangladesh

DuPont Bangladesh set up as a wholly owned subsidiary; focus on science-based solutions that address Bangladesh growth

February 26, 2013, Dhaka, Bangladesh — DuPont recently announced setting up of its wholly owned subsidiary ‘DuPont Bangladesh Ltd’. This new legal entity further strengthens DuPont presence in the high growth Bangladesh market and will enable local collaborations, especially in the areas of agriculture and food, apparel and textiles, paints and construction, graphics and packaging, infrastructure, renewable energy, safety and protection, and others. The announcement was made at a high-profile event hosted at a prominent hotel in Dhaka and attended by about 100 guests.

Speaking at the event, G M Quader, Honorable MP, Commerce Minister, Government of Bangladesh, said ‘’I am delighted that a prestigious company like DuPont has now fully stepped into Bangladesh’’.

Congratulating DuPont on the opening of the new subsidiary, John F. Danilowicz, Charge the Affairs, US Embassy, Dhaka, said, “DuPont is one of the leading companies in the USA and it is great that the company has decided to expand its presence in Bangladesh”.

In his remarks at the event, Rajeev Vaidya, president – south Asia & ASEAN, DuPont, said, “The DuPont growth strategy is focused on delivering science-powered solutions to address the key challenges of feeding the growing population, reducing dependence on fossil fuels and protecting people and the environment. In emerging economies like Bangladesh, we see a great synergy between DuPont science & technology and the needs of the local markets and consumers.”
